ECAC Announces 2013 Men's Division I Lacrosse Media Day

The Eastern College Athletic Conference has announced the 2013 “Media Day” for the  ECAC Division I Men’s Lacrosse League will be held on Friday, February 8. The format will be the posting of videos on YouTube submitted by each member institution. Head coaches and players will appear in the videos addressing such issues as:

  • Anticipation of each team’s performance for the season
  • Differences between the 2013 teams as compared to 2012
  • First year players for which fans should watch
  • Potential sleeper team(s) in ECAC Division I Lacrosse this season
  • The potential for Loyola to repeat as NCAA Champion
  • Other thoughts on how the team or the ECAC Division I Lacrosse League as a whole will fare for the 2013 season

The ECAC is in its 14th season of competition.  The first League game will be Michigan at Bellarmine on February 16. All teams with the exception of defending national champion Loyola University of Maryland and Hobart College open this weekend.

The ECAC has produced 25 NCAA Tournament teams including Loyola Maryland’s national championship run in 2012, Denver advancing to the championship weekend in 2011, and Massachusetts’ appearance in the 2006 national championship game.

The 2013 ECAC Lacrosse League playoffs will be held at Hobart College with semifinal games on Thursday, May 2nd, and the Championship contested Saturday, May 4. All three games will be televised by Fox Sports Network. The ECAC Tournament winner receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship Tournament.
