USAFA, Colo. – Air Force head coach Eric Seremet has named the team captains for the 2013 season. Leading the Falcons for the upcoming year will be a trio of juniors—Mike Crampton, Erik Smith and Bryan Price.
“I am proud to announce Mike, Erik and Bryan as the captains of the 2013 Air Force Falcons,” said Seremet. “Not only have they had significant impact as players during their time in the program, they have earned the respect of their coaches and peers as leaders off the field as well. Each captain will bring something different to the table enhanced by their unique personalities. I expect them to rise to the challenges associated with being team captain and also expect big things from them on the field this season.”
Crampton, an attackman from Kinnelon, N.J., is one of Air Force’s top offensive threats, ranking among the nation’s leading goal scorers in 2012. Smith, a midfielder from Golden, Colo., has been a standout for the Falcons the past two seasons as a point scorer in addition to a threat at the face-off X. Meanwhile, Price (Denver, Colo.) walked on to the team as a sophomore and made an immediate impact, earning ECAC All-Rookie honors as one of Air Force’s top face-off midfielders.
The Falcons, rated 25th in the nation by Inside Lacrosse in the 2013 Face-Off Yearbook, begins their season on Feb. 8, when they visit North Carolina, ranked fifth in the preseason.
