Semifinal #1: No. 1 Seed Loyola def. No. 4 Seed Denver, 14-13 (ot)
Loyola (13-1 overall) jumped out to an early 8-3 lead and then had to withstand a furious Denver (8-6) rally before bouncing the defending ECAC champions, 14-13 in overtime, in a battle of nationally ranked teams. Scott Ratliff scored his second goal of the game 8 seconds into the extra session to send the Greyhounds (#3 USILA/#3 Inside Lacrosse polls) into their first conference championship game. Ratliff added a game-best nine ground balls while teammates Eric Lusby (1 assist) and Phil Dobson also scored twice. Jeremy Noble (1 assist) and Eric Law each notched a hat trick for the Pioneers (#12/#11), who outscored Loyola 7-1 in the fourth quarter to knot the score at 13-all. Chase Carraro chipped in eight ground balls and Cameron Flint forced "OT" with his 13th goal, unassisted, with 3 minutes and 30 seconds left in regulation.
Semifinal #2: No. 3 Seed Fairfield def. No. 2 Seed Ohio State, 8-7
No. 16-ranked Fairfield (12-3) edged No. 18/17 Ohio State, 8-7. Sam Snow broke a 7-all tie with his third goal of the night with 2:49 remaining in the fourth quarter to lift the Stags to their second consecutive conference championship game. John Snellman also recorded a hat trick and Colin McLinden registered three assists to pace the Fairfield offense, and Charlie Cipriano stopped 14 shots. For Ohio State (8-7), Jesse King (1 assist), Adam Trombley and David Planning scored two goals apiece. The Buckeyes had trailed 5-1 after the first quarter before King tallied his 16th goal to open the second, igniting a 3-0 run to close the deficit to 5-4.
