Ohio State Moves into National Rankings, Continues Community

Buckeyes Enter National Rankings
With a 13-8 victory over No. 3-ranked North Carolina Saturday, Ohio
State has moved into the national rankings for the first time this
season. The squad holds down the No. 13 spot in the USILA
coaches’ poll and is rated 15th in the Nike/Inside Lacrosse
media poll.
The Buckeyes’ win over the third-ranked Tar Heels is the first against a Top 3 team for the program since playing a full-time Division I schedule.
Against the Tar Heels, the Buckeyes trailed early but used a 9-1 run in the second and third quarters to take control of the game. Ohio State, which outscored UNC, 5-1, in the third quarter, held the Tar Heels to just 11 shots and two goals in the second half. Watch video highlights of the game: http://go.osu.edu/unchili.
JJ and the Buckeyes
During the fall, the Ohio State men’s lacrosse program
welcomed JJ Snider into the family, and the fourth grader has been
on the sidelines for the first three Buckeye games – all wins
– this year. The team adopted JJ through the Friends of
Jaclyn Foundation, a non-profit, charitable organization formed in
2005 that improves the quality of life for children with pediatric
brain tumors and their families. JJ and his family - his parents
Jodi and Mike, sisters Mary and Joanna and brothers Rudy and
Michael – have spent time with the team throughout the
year.

Buckeyes Donate Funds for Finish Hard
Foundation
The Ohio State men’s lacrosse team held coaches and player
clinics in the fall, with net proceeds from both benefiting the
Finish Hard Foundation in support of former Buckeye assistant coach
Dennis Stewart. Last week, the program was able to donate $3,000 to
the foundation.
On Sept. 25, 2009, Stewart, the boys lacrosse assistant head coach at Lake Braddock High School and director of operations for TripleEDGE Lacrosse, suffered a massive stroke. The Finish Hard Foundation was created to help with Stewart's needs, stroke awareness and continued growth of the game. He has spent his life coaching lacrosse, at the high school level at Lake Braddock High School and Bishop Ireton High School, and in collegiate lacrosse. The Buckeye program, which donated clinic proceeds to The Jack McGetrick Fund last year, plans to continue fundraising efforts for the Finish Hard Foundation and Coach Stewart.
Painting Buckeyes
Just this morning, members of the Buckeye squad were at the Ronald
McDonald House of Central Ohio, helping paint the basement as part
of a major remodeling project for the House. For a picture, and to

UMass Up Next
Ohio State (3-0) will be back in action at noon Saturday when it
hits the road for the first time this season for a matchup with No.
11/12 Massachusetts (2-0). The teams will face off at Garber Field
