About the ECAC Lacrosse League
One of the top-ranked conferences in Division I men's
lacrosse, the ECAC Lacrosse League began competition in 2000 and
enjoyed immediate success. In the league's 11-year history, members
have earned 22 NCAA Tournament berths, and more than half of those
selections (14 of 22) have been at large bids. A league team has
advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals in seven of the league's 11
years. In 2003, the ECAC had four teams qualify for the NCAA
Tournament, a quarter of the 16-team field. In 2005, Hobart College
and Loyola University (Md.) joined the ECAC. Fairfield University
joined the league in 2006. In 2010, the league added Air Force,
Bellarmine, Denver, Ohio State, and Quinnipiac.
