Palmer Joins Loyola Men’s Lacrosse Squad
BALTIMORE – Former Bucknell Univeristy midfieler Chris
Palmer has joined the Loyola University Maryland men’s
lacrosse team and will play for the Greyhounds as a graduate
student in 2011.
Palmer, who scored nine goals and assisted on nine others as a
senior for the Bison in 2010, is studying for his M.B.A. at Loyola
after earning his bachelor’s degree in economics from
Bucknell.
In his three years of competition for the Bison – Palmer
suffered an injury during his freshman year and received a redshirt
waiver – Bucknell went 27-18 with a 13-5 record in the
Patriot League. The Bison reached the Patriot League Championships
in all three seasons.
As a junior in 2009, Palmer scored 10 goals from the second
midfield, tallying a goal in nine different games. He also scored
twice and had the eventual game-winner in the Bison’s victory
over Colgate that clinched the Patriot League regular-season title.
He also scored the team’s first goal in the Patriot League
Championship Game against Navy.
Palmer returned to the field in 2008 for his first collegiate
season of competition, scoring two goals and recording an assist.
His second goal of the year came in the Patriot League Championship
Game against Colgate.
A three-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection, Palmer
was a standout lacrosse and football player in high school at The
Lovett School in Atlanta, Ga. He earned High School Lacrosse
All-America honors as a senior and was the football team’s
captain as a senior.
