COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State men's lacrosse team will continue its fall practice with a Scarlet vs. Gray intrasquad game at 7 p.m. Friday under the lights in Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. The scrimmage is open to the public and admission is free.
The 48-man roster opened practice last week and continues fall ball through Oct. 17. The team will host Johns Hopkins in the 2009 Thumbs Up Event at 7 p.m. Oct. 9 at Upper Arlington High School in Columbus. Tickets are on sale now for the game. Click here for more information.
The team spent part of Sunday getting to know each other off the field, cheering the field hockey Buckeyes on to a last-minute win before taking part in a GPS scavenger hunt at Camp Lazarus north of Columbus. The teams were split into smaller groups and had to find items/clues scattered throughout the 40 acres of property. The winning team included senior Andrew Stimmel, junior TJ Smith, junior transfer Zach Rogers, sophomore Keenan Ochwat, freshmen Stewart D'Ambrogi and Kevin Mack.
The Buckeye lacrosse family continues to send its thoughts and prayers to Coach Dennis Stewart, a former Ohio State assistant coach who is in the hospital fighting to recover from a stroke suffered last week. A CarePages website has been created where updates will be posted on his condition and friends can leave messages or share their favorite coach story.
