Columbus, Ohio- Early Sunday morning when many college students are in bed, members of the Ohio State men's lacrosse team were reporting to the Fisher College of Business courtyard to volunteer at the Hemophilia Walk, held Oct. 26. For three hours, 20 members of the men's lacrosse team helped out at the walk, setting up and marking the course and directing traffic, setting up and working water stations, directing and cheering on walkers and helping with registration of walkers and groups.

"I thought the Hemophilia Walk was a great event, not only did it raise money for a terrific cause but also promoted good health in the process," Brandon Freeman, a senior goalie for the Buckeyes, said. "The turnout was tremendous and it was good to see a lot of groups around the community put together teams to come out and walk. I had a good time handing out water and drinks to the participants as they came by our tent."

The Hemophilia Walk is sponsored by the National Hemophilia Foundation. The walk was held to further the foundation's mission to find better treatments, and cures for bleeding and clotting disorders. NHF wants to prevent the complications of these disorders through education, awareness, advocacy and research.
