Hobart Sports Information

Hobart College graduate Ricky Evans will don his Statesmen helmet one final time when he represents his alma mater in the 68th U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association North/South Game at Harvard Stadium on Fri., May 22.

A three-year starter on close defense, Evans played in 50 games over the past four seasons, collecting 91 ground balls. He scooped up a career-high 33 GBs this season and recorded a single game-high seven ground balls against Fairfield in 2008.

With Evans in the lineup this spring, the Statesmen allowed just 110 goals for a goals against average of 7.86, ranking 10th in the nation in scoring defense. The only Hobart squad to post better numbers since the program jumped to Division I in 1995 also included Evans. In 2008, the Statesmen allowed one fewer goal for a 7.79 GAA. That unit was 15th in the nation in scoring defense.

Evans was a three-time Statesmen Scholar and earned a spot on the 2008 ECAC All-Academic team. He was awarded a bachelor's degree in religious studies on Sun., May 17.

Since 1940, 103 Hobart student-athletes have competed in the North/South Game, including 19 Division I Statesmen.
