Downing is the Stags only multi-time All-America selection, earning Honorable Mention accolades each of the last four years.  He finished his career with 101 goals, fourth all-time, having scored 20 or more goals in each of his four seasons.  He ranks among the top-10 in Fairfield history with 141 points and 40 career assists.

Four Stags have been drafted in the MLL in previous seasons, all in the supplemental draft.

The Riptide play in the Western Conference, entering the league for the 2006 season.  That first year the team posted a 6-6 mark, good for third place in the conference.  John Tucker is the head coach of the Riptide.  He was a member of the Johns Hopkins 1984 undefeated national championship team.
